Dr. rer. nat.Thomas Wendt

about me

received his PhD in summer 1998 at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg in the structures department. Since then, the application of protein biochemical and molecular biological methods is a dominating part of his research. After finishing a two year postdoctoral position in structural research in the US, he returned to EMBL in summer 2000. His main focus besides the study of macromolecular complexes by electron microscopy is the optimization of image processing techniques and protein expression. Due to the supervision of several students and pupils, he recognized that the motivation and support of young students should become his main activity.
